Shoe Stretching & Dyeing
$20-$80

Custom shoe stretching and professional dyeing services to get the perfect fit and colour for your footwear. Our stretching service uses professional-grade mechanical stretchers and targeted spot-stretching for bunions, corns, and high insteps — eliminating the discomfort of tight shoes without damaging the leather. For dyeing, we use professional Angelus, Tarrago, and Fiebing's leather dyes that penetrate deeply for permanent, even colour results. Whether you need to darken light shoes, refresh faded colour, or completely change the hue of your leather footwear, our experienced dyers deliver custom colour matching and hand-applied finishing that looks factory-original. Our mechanical stretchers accommodate widths from narrow AA to extra-wide EE and can also stretch specific pressure points using targeted stretching pods. For leather dyeing, we hand-apply multiple thin coats for even saturation, followed by a clear sealant for durability and water resistance. Popular dyeing requests include dyeing satin wedding shoes to match bridesmaid dresses, refreshing faded brown or black leather, and converting tan shoes to deeper tones. Results are permanent and machine-washable where applicable.

Shoe stretching is a precision process, not a brute-force exercise. Our two-way stretchers adjust both length and width simultaneously using a calibrated screw mechanism. For targeted relief — a bunion on the left foot, a corn on the right — we position spot-stretching pods (small metal plugs) at the exact pressure point and leave the shoe on the stretcher for 24-48 hours. The leather fibres gradually relax and retain the new shape permanently. We apply Saphir Shoe-Eze stretching liquid to accelerate the process and prevent cracking.

For shoes that need more than 1 cm of additional width, we recommend a two-stage stretch over 3-4 days to prevent overstressing the leather. Patent leather and synthetic materials have limited stretch capacity — we advise customers honestly when stretching is unlikely to produce satisfactory results.

Professional shoe dyeing transforms footwear at a fraction of replacement cost. The process begins with stripping the existing finish using Angelus Leather Preparer and Deglazer, which removes the factory topcoat and opens the leather pores for maximum dye absorption. We then apply 3-5 thin coats of Angelus leather dye using airbrush or hand application, allowing each coat to dry completely before the next. This layering technique prevents streaking and ensures even colour distribution. A final coat of Angelus Acrylic Finisher (available in matte, satin, or gloss) seals the dye and provides resistance to water, scuffing, and flexion cracking. For satin bridal shoes, we use Tarrago Self Shine dye designed specifically for delicate fabrics, with over 100 colours available for exact dress matching.
